Taurine versus toxins
A popular diet supplement – taurine – proved to be a detoxicant. As it was proven by the research of professor Kozumbo et al published in Toxicol. Appl. Pharmacol., taurine is capable of neutralizing and eliminating harmful chlorine compounds. Chlorine toxins are taken up by plant organs from industrial waste and plant protections agents and accumulated throughout further links of the alimentary chain – first herbivores, then carnivores, eventually including people. Fatty tissues accumulate them in particularly large amounts so we provide the largest amounts of the toxins when consuming animal fats. Studies in the toxicity of chlorine compounds conducted for many years did not give evidence for their significant harmfulness. However, they demonstrated that the compounds may reduce physical capacity as they inhibit appetite and lead to the decrease in proteins. Some of them are also suspected of a carcinogenic effect.
